چکیده

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a method of encoding digital data on multiple carrier frequencies. OFDM has developed into a popular scheme for wide-band digital communication. Despite its advantages, it has a major drawback of its high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) value which degrades its efficiency and increases its cost. In this paper, two proposed systems are discussed to reduce the PAPR value. They depend on a signal conversion to an approximated triangle signal by means of a proposed Wizard Amplitude Shaping (WAS) encoder. The whole characteristics mathematical analysis are presented for the proposed systems. Additionally, the complexity evaluations, reliability, In-band distortion; in terms of Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), time and frequency domain behaviors are explained. The two proposed systems are compared with the conventional OFDM system in terms of PAPR and Bit Error Rate (BER) under Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel and multipath fading channels. Furthermore, the impacts of the proposed schemes design parameters, are studied.

A Low Complexity Forward Error Correction for PAPR reduction in OFDM Systems

In this paper, a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction technique in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. This technique uses error correction capability of channel coding to reduce the PAPR.The coded bits at the input of OFDM modulator are separated into two groups of the Most Significant Bits (MSB) and the LeastSignificant Bits (LSB). The bits are mappe...

Peak to Average Power Ratio Reduction in Mc Cdma System by Using Pulse Shaping Technique

One of the drawback of multicarrier code division multiple access (MC CDMA) is the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper A novel scheme based on pulse shaping described for PAPR reduction. Here three different pulse shaping filters (Raised cosine, Sinc power pulse and Nyqist pulse) are described for PAPR reduction in MC CDMA system. The method is based on the proper selection o...

PAPR Reduction in Wireless OFDM Systems

Non-linear programming has been extensively used in wireless telecommunication systems design. PAPR reduction is implemented in the handheld devices and low complexity is a major objective. High PAPR is one of the major disadvantages of OFDM system which is resulted from large envelope fluctuation of the signal. Our proposed technique to reduce the PAPR is based on constellation shaping that st...

Performance Improvement in OFDM System by PAPR Reduction Using Pulse Shaping Technique

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an efficient method of data transmission for high speed communication systems. However, the main drawback of OFDM system is the high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signal. OFDM consist of large number of independent subcarriers, as a result of which the amplitude of such signal can have high peak values. Pulse shaping u...

Application of Non-linear Optimization Techniques in Wireless Telecommunication Systems

Non-linear programming has been extensively used in wireless telecommunication systems design. An important criterion in optimization is the minimization of mean square error. This thesis examines two applications: peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems and wireless airtime traffic estimation. These two applications are both of ...
